Memories of GHS>
|
|
---I remember GHS
fondly. I remember the pep rallies in the park in Germantown the night before
the football games and the games themselves. I can still hear Nick Zecca's
laughter; Betty Isphording and Linda Damerjian's pep and enthusiasm as cheer
leaders. ---I can still remember Miss Hoh
telling me that if I wanted to pass gym class I would have to pick one thing
that I COULD do and leam to do it well and be a leader. I was definitely not
gym material. She was such a kind and understanding person and proved to be a
wonderful help to me in many other areas. ---Coincidentally, at my husband's 50th class reunion we sat with a couple, George Hinson and wife, and his father taught English a GHS and I had been in his class - not one of my favorite teachers. |

Life After GHS>

|
---After graduation I worked
at Gimbels in Cheltenham for the summer. In the fall of 1957, I went to
Drexel Institute of Technology to study medical technology. I continued my
studies in medical technology at Germantown Hospital. It was during this time
that I met my first husband. Upon completion, I worked at Sun Oil Company as
head of their laboratory. ---In November 1960,1 married Leonard
Cinberg, M.D. and raised three children - Kimberle, Robert and Margaret. Kim,
a legal assistant, and her husband have 2 girls, ages 6 and 11. Kim is now
retired from her legal work and is a full time mother. Rob, a CPA and
financial planner, and his wife have triplets, 2 girls and a boy, now 41/2
years old. Meg is an attorney with a firm in Norristown after working as an
assistant district attorney in Philadelphia. ---I returned to the work force in
1978 as a medical assistant and office administrator in an OB/GYN office.
After my husband passed away in 1990, I worked as a medical assistant in a
nephrology office where I met and subsequently married my present husband,
William Siegfried in 1998. Bill has one son. ---I retired shortly after we were married and spend much of my time with the 5 grandchildren, whom I adore. I discovered that it is quite a challenge to feed 3 babies at the same time at 2 a.m. in the morning. I keep busy with church work, bowling, and a small homemade candy business. I still, enjoy watching basketball and football. |
