Memories of GHS>
|
|
---I loved my high
school days. Whenever I recall the days at GHS, I smile and remember so many
of my friends (with whom I still maintain a very strong friendship) and the
good times we had. There were also many classmates who left lasting memories
with me, whom I have not seen in quite a long time. I’m looking forward to
seeing most of them at this upcoming reunion. ---Journalism class was one of my
favorites… I guess mostly because of Mr. Norman Kline. His humor and sarcasm
couldn’t be beat!! “Word Wealth” was his ever-ready tool and I gained from
it. I learned what the word “diction” meant. I thank him for great memories. ---Miss Glassberg taught me to love
plays and literature. She was a serious teacher, very dedicated and
professional, and gave me an understanding of Shakespeare and the underlying
meanings of his work. ---How could I ever forget Mr. Henry
Wagner? Dashing and charming with a special warmth and ability to make
history extremely exciting. I owe my love of European history to him; some of
the info I learned in his class is still with me!! ---I remember a smiling Mr. Krimins….a
pleasant, likeable man who also knew how to teach!! I think we all had a
crush on him at one time or another. ---One of my favorite activities was
Year Book Committee. One of my least favorite activities was early morning Ballet
Class. I had to wake up at 6am to get to the gym before school started, dress
in scanty clothes in a freezing cold gym, and try to be limber. Even though I
loved ballet, the conditions left a lot to be desired! |

Life After GHS>
|
|
---After high school,
I graduated from Temple University, and was married shortly afterwards. My
husband, Arnold Bank, and I have been married for 43 years. We raised 3
wonderful (if I might say so myself) children, and have 4 delightful (again
if I might say so myself) grandchildren. ---We have worked side by side, as
partners, not only in our marriage, but also in business. I have been a gift
buyer in our retail stores for the past 30 years, and it has been a good
trip. ---I have become a bit of an artist in
my old age, working with clay, and actually have turned out a few pretty
decent pieces. The most important part of this "hobby" is that it
affords me some totally relaxing and therapeutic moments....we can all use
that! ---My old friends have thoroughly
enriched my life; from high school days to the present time, and I hope
forever more. .....Marcy, Linda and Merle....we've been through thick and
thin together, as close as ever, and it feels very good. Looking forward
to seeing everyone in October. |
